Shapeshot privacy policy

What stays on your device

Your progress (stars, puzzle records, ratings and match history), your player card (name, flag, and a photo if you choose one), your settings and your Pro Shop items are saved on your phone, inside the app. Shapeshot has no accounts, and we never receive this data: your photo and your games are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes them. If you have Android backup turned on, Android may include the app's data in your own Google backup.

Ads

The free version of Shapeshot shows ads through Google AdMob. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the app collects the following and shares it with Google:

  • your device's advertising ID and app set ID;
  • your IP address, from which an approximate location is worked out;
  • how you use the app (for example which screens you open and when an ad is shown);
  • diagnostic data (for example crashes and how long things take to load).

Where the law requires it (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) you are asked for consent before personalised ads, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy options. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. Ads are limited to content suitable for everyone, and gambling ads are blocked. Buying No Ads or Everything removes the ads. Google's policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Purchases

Purchases are made through Google Play; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat records your purchases against an anonymous app user id, so they can be restored on a new phone; it receives your purchase history and basic device information. RevenueCat's policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Test versions

Test versions of Shapeshot on Google Play's testing tracks show no real ads, and everything in the Pro Shop is free.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, and we don't collect your name, contacts, files or precise location. Data sent by the app is encrypted in transit. Shapeshot is not directed at children under 13.

Your choices and deletion

You can change ad consent in Settings → Ad privacy options, reset your advertising ID in Android settings, and delete everything stored on your device by uninstalling the app. To ask about your purchase records or have them deleted, write to the contact address below.

Changes

If Shapeshot starts collecting anything else, this page will say what and why before the app does it.
